implant dentistry
Implant Dentistry are implants that are small posts, usually titanium, that are placed in the bone of the upper or lower arch to restore with crowns, bridges, partials, dentures or a fixed appliance. Once implants are placed in the bone, it may take 2-4 months for the implant to fully integrate before being ready to restore with crown, bridge partials, dentures or a fixed appliance. Talk with our dental professionals to see if you are a candidate for implants.
Implant Dentistry
Dental Implants are state-of-the-art in dentistry. Dental implants are small posts, usually titanium, that are placed in the bone of the upper or lower arch to restore crowns, bridges, partials, dentures or a fixed appliance. The implant can be placed by an oral surgeon, periodontist or general dentist.

Typically, there is a surgical incision of the gum tissue and a flap is opened. The implant is placed in the bone of the lower or upper arch. The gum tissue is put back into place with sutures and the implant is left to heal. It may take 2-4 months for the implant to fully integrate before being ready to resotre with crown, bridge partials, removable dentures or fixed appliance. Once the implant has integrated, the implant is uncovered in the office and impression posts are placed. We take an impression for your crown, bridge or prosthesis to be fabricated by the lab. The impression post is removed and a healing cap placed back on the implant while the prosthesis is being made. You will return in approximately 3 weeks for final delivery of your porcelain crown or bridge. If it is a fixed or removable denture or a fixed appliance, more steps are involved and will be discussed by your dentist. Talk with your dental professional to see if you are a candidate for implants.
